ASI Presents: The Hues of the Fucino Plain

This picture displays the PRISMA hyperspectral data that was collected in September 2019 in the Fucino Lake region of Italy. The image is a false color composite on the front, and the spectral data signatures are visible on the lateral faces of the cube. The Fucino plain, located in the Abruzzo region, is depicted in shades of green, indicating its use for agriculture. The reflectance spectrum magnitude between 400 and 2500 nm is shown on the lateral faces of the cube, with brighter colors representing larger values. The atmospheric absorption bands are also visible. The Fucino Space Center, which conducts ground segment activities for PRISMA and other important missions such as the COSMO-SkyMed constellation, is located in the plain. This data was generated by F. Serva and L. Ansalone under an ASI License to Use, using the original PRISMA product from ASI in 2019. The full frame image can be downloaded in jpg format.
