Material detection using PRISMA data: Identifying photovoltaic panels - ASI

The image displayed above is an RGB representation of a PRISMA image taken over the area of Pisa on August 1st, 2021. The spectrum of the material being searched for has been extracted from a PRISMA image acquired on June 10th, 2021, which includes an extended photovoltaic power station. In the bottom right corner, an enlarged view of a sub-image from the August PRISMA image is shown alongside the corresponding Soft MAP product (Adaptive Cosine Estimator – ACE), highlighting the pixels associated with the presence of photovoltaic panels.

The data and information presented in this article were generated by e-GEOS and UNIPI (Università di Pisa) under an ASI License to Use. The original PRISMA product is copyrighted by ASI – (2021).
