ASI's Involvement in the 73rd International Astronautical Congress in Paris

The International Astronautical Congress (IAC) is currently taking place in Paris, and the Italian Space Agency (ASI) is actively participating in the event. ASI’s president, Giorgio Saccoccia, will be involved in various bilateral meetings with other space agencies, including NASA, CSA, DLR, CONAE, and ISA. ASI’s exhibition booth, spanning over 100 square meters, will serve as a venue for these meetings.

The congress program revolves around the theme “Space4AII,” which will be discussed in plenary events and technical sessions. ASI will contribute its experiences and research results to these discussions. The IAC is a specialized congress that alternates between Europe and the rest of the world. The next European edition, IAC Milan 24, will be held in Milan in 2024. Italy aims to lead the international debate on using space to support sustainability during this event.

During the Paris congress, the upcoming edition of the New Space Economy Expo-Forum (NSE) will also be officially presented. The NSE, organized by Fondazione E.Amaldi and Fiera Roma and sponsored by ASI, focuses on the economic potential of the space sector and promotes innovative applications and services for citizens.

ASI serves as the national coordination body for the entire Italian aerospace sector. Its exhibition booth showcases institutions like the Ministry of Education, University and Research, as well as category associations and major companies in the sector. These entities collaborate with ASI on national and international programs. The booth features information materials on projects implemented in partnership with ASI, as well as exhibition models representing various programs and projects.
