Measat Commits to Providing Broadband Services to Malaysian Armed Forces via Satellite

Measat, a Malaysian satellite operator, has pledged to provide its CONNECTme NOW satellite broadband services for free to frontline Malaysian Armed Forces personnel serving at selected remote border checkpoint posts across the country. The move is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility program. CONNECTme NOW is a prepaid satellite broadband Wi-Fi hotspot service that provides community-focused satellite broadband services to realise national broadband aspirations. The platform currently provides 400,000 broadband connections within unconnected communities residing outside of 4G or terrestrial coverage areas nationwide. Measat’s Chief Operating Officer, Yau Chyong Lim, said the company recognised the dedication of military personnel and was pleased to support their efforts in keeping the country’s borders safe.
