The Paris Air Show, the world’s largest event for the aviation and aerospace industry, is organized every two years by SIAE, a subsidiary of GIFAS, the French Aerospace Industries Association. This year, ASI is attending the show with a delegation led by its President, Teodoro Valente. ASI’s stand, titled “Space to our dreams,” can be found in Hall 1-G 278.
On June 19, the show kicked off with two institutional visits to ASI’s stand. Defense Minister Guido Crosetto and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Edmondo Cirielli were received by ASI President Valente. Valente also met with Leonardo CEO Roberto Cingolani and President Stefano Pontecorvo at the company’s business chalet. Additionally, Valente had a meeting with Massimo Comparini, the CEO of Thales Alenia Space Italia, at the Thales Pavilion. Later in the day, Italian ESA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti visited the ASI stand.
The second day of the Paris Air Show, June 20, was filled with various meetings and events for ASI President Teodoro Valente. In the morning, Valente met with a delegation from the Apulia Region, including Councillor for Economic Development Alessandro Delli Noci, Director of the Economic Development Department Gianna Elisa Berlingerio, and Director of Support Policies and Innovation Vito Bavaro. He also participated in a meeting with the Lazio Region delegation. Valente’s agenda included a meeting with representatives from the United Arab Emirates Space Agency (UAESA), led by Deputy Director General Ibrahim Al Qasim. Later in the day, Valente attended a conference titled “Revolution in space: Europe’s new ambitions for space exploration,” organized by ESA and CNES. He joined ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher, CNES CEO Philippe Baptiste, DLR President Walther Pelzer, and astronauts Samantha Cristoforetti, Matthias Maurer, and Thomas Pesquet at the event.
