Luca Vincenzo Maria Salamone has officially assumed the role of Director General at the Italian Space Agency. His appointment was confirmed by the Agency’s Board of Directors on October 10th, in accordance with Article 11, paragraph 2 bis, of Legislative Decree No. 128 of June 4, 2003. Salamone, born in Catania in 1972, holds degrees in Law and Political Science, as well as a PhD in Public Law. With a background as a State Executive and former senior officer in the Italian Navy, he brings a wealth of experience from his various positions within Public Administrations and ministerial offices. Over the next four years, Salamone will lead the Italian Space Agency in its mission to advance space exploration and research.
