BlackSky Technology has secured a multimillion dollar renewal contract from an undisclosed international ministry of defence for its tactical imagery and analytics services. The company, which uses its satellite constellation and Spectra AI tasking and analytics platform to support a number of international ministries of defence, claims it can deliver on-demand imagery and analytics within 90 minutes. BlackSky CEO Brian O’Toole said the company’s real-time intelligence services were bringing the tactical value of space-based assets into the hands of customers at unprecedented speed and reliability. The firm has also recently partnered with Spire for a Maritime Custody Service and won a contract from energy intelligence company SynMax to monitor more than 100 coal power plants in the US.
